About the Role

We are entering a major growth phase and are seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager, Project Governance & Controls (Head of PMO) to establish and lead our national project governance function.

You will play a pivotal leadership role in establishing Aquatec’s national Project Management Office. Lead project governance, controls, risk management, and portfolio oversight during a critical growth phase.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, you will:

1. Design and embed best-practice project governance frameworks and lifecycle controls across Tier 1 and Tier 2 infrastructure projects.
2. Implement integrated project controls (cost, schedule, risk) and executive portfolio reporting.
3. Lead risk management, assurance reviews, and post-project learning.
4. Build and lead a small national team across planning, controls, and analytics.

About You:

The ideal candidate will have a strong engineering background, outstanding leadership skills, and a proven track record in setting up a Project Management Office in Tier 1 Construction environment.

§ Extensive experience in PMO leadership, project governance, or project controls within D&C or infrastructure environments.

§ Strong technical knowledge of project management systems (Primavera P6, Power BI, PMIS platforms like Procore/Aconex/Autodesk).

§ Proven success driving governance and delivery uplift on complex projects.

§ Strategic thinker, commercially astute, collaborative, and resilient.
