Role Description:
The Lead Finance Business Partner Manufacturing is primarily responsible for acting as a key business partner to the Redland Premium Fruit processing facilities in order to deliver strong commercial insight and understanding toward achieving strategic and operational business outcomes and improvements. Appropriate controls will need to be designed and implemented through the incumbent, and with the support of the role’s direct reports, the Systems Data Administrator and Management Accountant, to deliver stable and scalable processes and procedures and promote a strong internal control environment.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Management Accounting:
- Review of chart of accounts, ensuring its appropriateness for manufacturing environment. Work across Redland Finance team to agree and implement necessary changes as required.
- Design and roll out of management reporting suite, ensuring clear presentation of financial information and relevant links to manufacturing business drivers and associated KPIs.
- Embed financial control as a core management competency through design and implementation of processes that create spend accountability and where required, fiscal prudence.
- On-going review of all processes, systems and reports identifying improvements and efficiency gains where appropriate.
- Business Partnering & Support:
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, understand relevant business areas and support non-financial managers by assisting them to understand and interpret financial information.
- Actively seek out key decisions and projects requiring input, ensuring financial related impacts are considered and planned for. Position the role of the finance function such that it is seen as a true partner and contributor to the business’ success.
- Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Design, implement and lead the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes, from the build out of operational infrastructure up to the chairing of review meetings and sign offs. Ensure alignment to business strategy and planning cycles.
- Fully utilise the budget output to ensure achievement of annual targets and continued drive towards increased profitability. Include the budget as the key comparator in all reporting, positioning it as one of the key considerations in all spend decisions.
- Financial Planning and Analysis:
- Calculate and agree existing machine and labour efficiencies, using output as baseline from which to measure future growth. Material and labour routing baselines understood across all products.
- Provision of financial advice and decision support to processing-facility and sales-and-marketing management, understanding drivers to pre-empt potential issues and advise accordingly.
- Provision of support and cost analysis on financial issues and projects as required, ensuring information is provided to support key business decisions.
- Operational Finance:
- Oversight of operational finance processes, including day-to-day management of MES/ERP data administrator role and any data feeds/links to Finance systems and processes.
- Key support for any new MES/ERP system roll out.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Commerce or an equivalent related discipline.
- Demonstrated knowledge and recent experience in an FMCG / manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and organise resource.
- Experience utilizing Power BI, MYOB, Xero is ideal, but not essential.
