Mutares SE & Co. KGaA, Munich (www.mutares.com), as a listed private equity holding company, acquires medium-sized companies in special situations, which show significant operational improvement potential and are sold again after undergoing a repositioning and stabilization process. Mutares actively support its portfolio companies with its own investment and operations teams and through strategic add‑on acquisitions. The focus is on companies with revenues ranging from EUR 100 million to EUR 750 million, across various industries. The aim is to achieve a clear value increase with a focus on sustainable, long‑term growth of the portfolio company.

To facilitate the continued growth of our office in Vienna, we are seeking highly motivated Interns (m/f/d) for a period of preferably 6 months.

Your Tasks

  • Analyze investment opportunities by reviewing teasers and memoranda to identify promising acquisition targets
  • Support financial modeling including valuation, working capital normalization, and debt analysis
  • Assist in due diligence through data room reviews, risk identification, and expert call preparation
  • Contribute to transaction execution by helping draft offer documents and exit‑related materials
  • Provide administrative support to the Office Manager and Board of Directors as needed

Your Profile

  • Successfully completed degree in Economics (ideally with a specialization in Finance) or similar with outstanding results
  • Several completed internships, including experience in investment banking/M&A
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and hands‑on approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Business fluency in English and German, with the ability to communicate in a well‑structured and concise manner
