We’re looking for an experienced and hands-on Team Lead Accounting & Tax to manage our Austrian accounting team while actively contributing to daily financial operations. This role combines leadership with operational depth, offering the chance to shape and elevate accounting practices in a dynamic, tech-driven environment. You’ll be instrumental in guiding the team through ongoing transformation initiatives while ensuring financial integrity and tax compliance at every step.

Your tasks

  1. Lead and develop a team of 10 accounting professionals, fostering collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  2. Coordinate and operate the timely preparation of monthly and annual financial statements in accordance with the Austrian Commercial Code (UGB).
  3. Take an active role in operational accounting tasks—including handling of complex accounting matters, internal controls, reconciliations, and other key processes.
  4. Act as the go-to expert for taxation topics (especially VAT), corporate investments, accruals, provisions, and fixed assets (especially intangible assets).
  5. Coordinate and support tax audits; prepare and review tax returns in cooperation with internal and external stakeholders.
  6. Liaise effectively with auditors and tax advisors to resolve open matters and ensure compliance.
  7. Drive standardization of accounting processes and identify areas for optimization and automation.
  8. Contribute to key projects such as ERP upgrades and finance system implementations.

Your profile

  1. Completed bookkeeping training and financial accountant certification, combined with a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or similar.
  2. Tax advisor certification is a plus.
  3. 8–10 years of professional experience in accounting—preferably within a corporate group or a tax/audit consultancy.
  4. Proven experience (3–5 years) in leading or supervising accounting teams.
  5. Solid knowledge of accounting principles and Austrian tax regulations, along with hands-on experience in operational accounting tasks.
  6. Confident in working with accounting systems; experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.
  7. Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and a structured and proactive way of working.
  8. Team player with resilience and adaptability in a dynamic business environment.
  9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both German and English.

Our offer

  1. Flexible working hours, hybrid work model, and a culture supporting healthy work-life balance.
  2. Training budget to support your personal and professional growth.
  3. Daily fresh fruits, a wide selection of teas, fair trade coffee, and an in-house canteen at our Vienna HQ.
  4. Subsidized public transportation, plus access to pool e-bikes and e-cars for both business and personal use.
  5. On-site fitness room, MyClubs app points, along with fun sport- and company events.
  6. A wide range of local employee discounts, offers, and healthcare benefits.
  7. We are proud to offer a competitive base salary range of €75,000 - €80,000 gross/year (paid in 14 salaries), thoughtfully designed to align with industry standards, considering your qualifications, skills, and experience.
