- You conduct prosecution, opposition, appeal and invalidity proceedings before patent offices or courts worldwide (possibly with the involvement of external patent attorney offices)

- You provide oral and written opinions on patentability, expected scope of protection and value of developments from Roche R&D units or other areas of Roche or external collaborations taking into account all (contractual) aspects

- You assess third party patent rights

- You prepare options for dealing with potentially critical third-party property rights, advise the affected project groups / departments and implement them (patent litigation, cooperation with Licensing, Legal and project groups).

- You support R&D units and projects / inventors for decision-making in IP-related issues

You can identify yourself with the following statements?

- You have a degree in science or engineering (diploma or master, if possible Ph.D.) and additionally you are qualified to practice as European Patent Attorney (and optional as German Patent Attorney)

- You have practical experience in intellectual property law for at least 3 to 4 years in a patent law firm or in an industry patent department.

- You possess in-depth knowledge of European and German patent law as well as of the most important national patent rights (US, JP, CN), as well as international conventions such as EPC, PCT and knowledge of related fields (e.g. civil law, EU law, competition and antitrust law)

- You have a thorough and broad knowledge of biochemistry, biology and / or immunology (additional background in bioinformatics is a plus) and a basic knowledge of licensing and contract law

- English language skills, knowledge of German will be an advantage.
