Your role at SKE

  • Simulate and test complex utility-scale and C&I solar systems, including inverters, BESS and transformers, focus on megawatt-applications
  • Operate lab equipment (AC/DC sources, PV emulators, real-time simulators)
  • Execute grid compliance tests (e.g. FRT, frequency response, reactive power) and perform power quality assessments under various grid strength scenarios.
  • Conduct impedance/ passivity tests and grid-forming (GFM) evaluations
  • Run simulations for load flow, short-circuit and dynamic stability studies
  • Validate inverter/ BESS models with lab test data and analyze system stability under weak grid conditions
  • Support customers and operators by preparing technical documentation and pre-qualification files for TSOs/ DSOs and regulatory bodies
  • Collaborate with certification bodies and grid operators during type testing
  • Document recurring technical issues, solutions and procedures to build and maintain a robust knowledge base
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior team members

What Will Help You Succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree or completed HTL in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues
  • Experience working with grid operators (advantage)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a solid understanding of PV systems, inverters, energy storage, grid codes and compliance standards
  • German and Englisch knowledge Level B2 required
