Plant Manager

We have partnered with a leading biotechnology and fermentation‑based ingredients manufacturer to recruit for a Plant Manager, Switzerland (On‑Site). This senior operations role is responsible for overseeing end‑to‑end plant operations, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient production of high‑value fermentation‑derived products.

As Plant Manager, you will lead manufacturing, quality, engineering, and supply chain functions, while driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and scalable growth within a highly regulated environment.

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience within fermentation, biotech, pharmaceuticals, enzymes, or bio‑based ingredients.
• Strong expertise in industrial fermentation processes, downstream processing, and scale‑up.
• Deep understanding of GMP, safety, and regulatory compliance within regulated manufacturing environments.
• Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary plant teams and managing complex production operations.
• Strong leadership, communication, and continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities:

• Lead all plant operations, including fermentation, downstream processing, quality, maintenance, and supply chain.
• Ensure safe, compliant, and efficient production aligned with quality and regulatory standards.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance yield, productivity, and cost performance.
• Oversee capacity planning, equipment upgrades, and capital investment projects.
• Partner with R&D and process engineering teams to support scale‑up and technology transfer.
• Develop and lead a high‑performing site leadership team while fostering a strong safety culture.
