We are a medium sized Aboriginal Community Controlled organisation that delivers a suite of support services to the people of the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Through service teams in Broome, Derby and Kununurra we provide housing, reintegration, mental health, family, accommodation and emergency relief support to over 3000 people each year.

About the Opportunity

We are now looking for a full-time Deputy CEO based in Broome, WA.

In this role, you will support the CEO by overseeing service delivery, supervising team leaders, and ensuring cultural security across all service areas.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Acting as CEO when required and representing Centacare Kimberley at stakeholder forums
2. Guiding and supporting team leaders in delivering quality client services
3. Monitoring and evaluating service efficacy and implementing improvement strategies
4. Providing professional supervision and development support to all staff
5. Supporting the recruitment and onboarding of skilled, culturally sensitive employees
6. Ensuring compliance with all organisational policies and safety regulations
7. Conducting risk assessments to promote a safe and supportive work environment
8. Developing and maintaining collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders
9. Supporting the CEO in tendering for new business opportunities
10. Promoting culturally appropriate and secure practices across services
11. Reporting regularly on service activity and outcomes to the CEO and Board
12. Managing program budgets to align with organisational goals

About You

To qualify, you will need a tertiary qualification in a Social Services field and extensive experience in the delivery of social support services. A minimum of 5 years’ experience in staff supervision, management, and professional development will also be essential. Additionally, you must have experience working within program guidelines and organisational policies and procedures.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

1. Experience in delivering support services for vulnerable and at-risk groups
2. Strong understanding of trauma-informed, strength-based, and recovery-focused frameworks
3. Knowledge of cultural, social, and economic challenges facing Aboriginal people in the Kimberley
4. Familiarity with program tendering processes and service outcome evaluation
5. Knowledge of Industrial Relations, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and Equal Employment Opportunity legislation
