Job description
In your new job you will be responsible for:
- Lab Coordination:
- Oversee 50+ workbenches and 80 setups, including maintenance, repairs, and reconstruction
- Manage bench assignments for internal projects and coordinate with 10+ stakeholder teams
- Operations:
- Handle supplier communication, material purchasing and inventory stocking
- Plan and execute investments for cost-effective, high-quality lab infrastructure
- Supervise and train students, ensure lab access authorization and maintain tools and equipment
- Safety:
- Act as the primary contact for safety audits (1-2 annually) and ensure full compliance
- Coordinate audit preparations (e.g. cleaning, safety documents, fire safety)
- Maintain up-to-date safety regulations and documentation as the legal safety owner
- Customer and Facility Support:
- Prepare setups for customer visits and demonstrations
- Organize storage areas and mechanical rooms for efficient use
- Manage lab entry approvals, training and user lists
Profile
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- A degree from a university / university of applied sciences in Electrical Engineering or comparable
- 5+ years proven hands-on work experience in a laboratory environment, including using lab equipment
- A strong understanding of lab safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards
- Hands-on technical expertise in maintaining, repairing and setting up lab equipment
- Excellent coordination and organizational skills with experience in supplier communication and purchase planning
- The ability to train, supervise and coach students or junior engineers
- Skills in managing infrastructure and operational requirements of a technical lab with multiple setups and workbenches
- A proactive mindset to recognize and resolve operational pain points and are highly reliable and detail-oriented, with a focus on maintaining safety and quality standards
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills to coordinate with internal teams, suppliers and external visitors
- Hands-on and pragmatic with a willingness to work as a general rule, 5-days a week on-site in the lab
- Fluent in English and advanced German is required
We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H. The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
