Global IT Director R&D (CIO leadership teammember)

Are you ready to shape the future of digital transformation at dsm‑firmenich? Within our Animal Nutrition & Health team, we’re looking for a dynamic Global IT Director R&D to lead the digital strategy for our Precision Services business line and our Science & Research (S&R) organization.

As a visionary in your field, you’ll collaborate with stakeholders across these two domains to simplify and innovate our business processes. Your role will be pivotal in translating business ambitions into a multi‑year Digital & Tech (D&T) strategy, ensuring we deliver tangible value.

Your key responsibilities

• Stakeholder Engagement: Be the strategic entry point between precision services & S&R; and D&T organization. Collaborate with business leaders to drive, define, prioritize, and shape the digital portfolio.
• Digital Strategy & Transformation: Turn business strategy into a comprehensive D&T portfolio. Identify opportunities for digital transformation that add business value and align strategic priorities.
• IT Roadmap: Oversee the portfolio of digital products and services. Make strategic decisions on resource allocation, investment, and prioritization to maximize impact.
• Financial Management: Manage the financial aspects of the portfolio, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control, to ensure profitability and ROI.
• Business Capability Management: Partner with business leaders to assess and plan the D&T capabilities and skills needed for success.

You bring

• Experience: You have at least 10 years of experience in IT of which at least 5 years in an IT business partner role (or related). Ideally you experienced the reality of both a digital services organization and a laboratory environment.
• Industry Knowledge: You have experience in defining and implementing digital strategies and business models for enterprise functions, preferably in a multinational company.
• Problem‑Solving Ability: You have a clear approach to identifying business challenges and applying digital solutions to drive value.
• Strategic Execution: You have a proven ability to bridge the gap between strategy and execution.
• Language Skills: You are fluent in English and possess excellent communication skills to engage and influence senior stakeholders and all levels within our organization.
• Knowledge level: You perform at bachelor's or master's level.
