About the role

The Residential General Manager (GM) is a strategic and operational leader responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations and long-term success of the Jesmond Group’s residential aged care facilities. This role reports to the COO and ensures the delivery of high-quality care, compliance with regulatory standards, financial sustainability, and the achievement of organizational goals.

The GM will lead multidisciplinary teams, foster a culture of excellence, and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including residents, families, staff, government agencies, and community partners.

This is a full-time role, based at our Head Office in North Strathfield, with on-site operational oversight. Regular travel between our three residential facilities is required.

Responsibilities include:

  3. Resident-Centered Care

Qualifications and experience:

  • Tertiary qualifications in healthcare management, nursing, or a related field. AHPRA registration (optional).
  • Minimum 5 years in aged care operations, including leadership of multidisciplinary teams, multi-site management, and budget preparation.
  • Expert knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, ANNAC funding, and legislative frameworks.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience in budget development and oversight.
  • Exceptional communication, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven ability to drive accreditation compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Compassionate, culturally sensitive, hands-on leadership style, and commitment to excellence in aged care.
  • Experience with clinical documentation systems (e.g., iCare, AusMed, MOA).
  • Advanced certifications in risk management or healthcare leadership.
  • Understanding of marketing strategies to enhance community engagement and occupancy.
