Puma Energy Bitumen has a great opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead the team at our Kwinana Bitumen Facility, a Puma-owned and operated terminal with JV Storage.

Role Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for delivering safe and efficient operations, including:

  1. Managing operational and contractual performance of the JV;
  2. Overseeing supply and manufacturing operations;
  3. Balancing maintenance and capital works to meet operational and customer requirements;
  4. Controlling operational expenditure; and
  5. Leading the implementation of operational improvements.

This position is ideal for someone looking to enhance their leadership and commercial skills in a dynamic, challenging environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading an internal operations team to ensure production meets customer demands;
  • Supporting third-party maintenance teams to minimize equipment breakdowns;
  • Maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders;
  • Developing and maintaining procedures;
  • Managing the Puma Safety Health Management System (SAPS) and ensuring compliance with Australian Standards and regulations;
  • Managing ship discharge requirements and supporting control system operations;
  • Scheduling and planning manufacturing orders;
  • Representing Puma in JV operations to meet contractual performance levels;
  • Overseeing major terminal works, upgrades, and shutdowns;
  • Managing budgets and expenditures;
  • Mentoring team members and fostering a positive culture.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Has a tertiary qualification in Engineering or relevant Trade Certification;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in hazardous industrial plants, manufacturing, or petroleum industry;
  • Possesses strong business acumen, communication skills, and knowledge of Australian Standards and safety standards;
  • Understands Trade Practices requirements;
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, especially with processing equipment;
  • Experience in safe operations and emergency response;
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and work collaboratively;
  • Customer-focused and self-motivated to improve operations;
  • Available on call 24/7 and able to travel nationally if required.
