Job Description
As Head of Procurement Area Europe, you are a member of the Area Management Team Europe, reporting directly to the Executive Vice President Area Europe. You will cooperate closely with the Corporate Procurement team to develop and implement procurement strategies across European countries and ensure supply chain efficiency.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop the procurement team of the Area Europe and the procurement contacts within our European country organizations to ensure continuous improvement and added value.
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize cost savings and improve supplier performance.
- Manage an overall procurement volume of over 180 million EUR.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee contract negotiations and management for major European contracts.
- Implement and manage procurement systems and processes to enhance efficiency and transparency.
- Analyze market trends and economic factors to inform procurement strategies.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function.
- Collaborate closely with the Area Management Team Europe, Global Procurement, and Corporate departments.
- Act as role model and promoter of the Umdasch Group principles, Doka strategy, and compliance for Area Europe.
Qualifications
- Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Proven leadership experience, including managing and inspiring teams, and managing by objectives.
- Successful track record in strategic sourcing, supplier relationship management, and contract negotiations.
- Deep understanding of European procurement regulations and practices.
- Strong knowledge of procurement software (SAP R3, S4, SAP Ariba) and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to drive results and achieve cost savings targets.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent in English and German.
- Willingness to travel within Europe.

The salary for this position is in line with the market, based on qualifications and experience. The minimum gross annual salary according to the collective agreement (woodworking industry) is EUR 47,587.00.
