Executive Dean: Faculty of Engineering, Architecture & IT

About the Faculty
The Faculty has long, proud traditions of innovation and leadership across student education and research. In just over a century, more than 27,000 Faculty graduates have gone on to use their UQ education to have a significant impact globally and the Faculty's research provides a rich and diverse flow of breakthrough technologies that are helping to improve communities around the world.

Programs in civil, mechanical and chemical engineering, architecture, design, urban planning, computer science, and information technology are offered across the Faculty's five schools and three research institutes and centres. Students have direct access to researchers, teachers and industry leaders working at the cutting edge of future technologies.

The Role
Reporting to the Provost, the Executive Dean provides strategic leadership and direction in all aspects of the Faculty's research and research training, teaching, and learning, professional activities, and community engagement. As a member of the Executive Group, the Executive Dean is called upon to share in stewardship of the University's purpose, vision and values.

The Executive Dean is accountable for the physical, financial and human resources, academic matters relating to programs and students, and a range of functions including the development of research, national and international marketing, and enhanced government, business and community links.
