About Us
The Endeavor Mine is a major underground silver/lead/zinc mine, located 40km north-west of Cobar in Central-West NSW.
Polymetals (ASX: POL) acquired the Endeavor Mine in 2023 and formally took control in August 2024. Since then, Polymetals has delivered an initial 10-year mine plan, secured a US $20million (A$30million) loan facility, and have now progressed mining operations and concentrate production in July-2025. It’s an exciting time for Endeavour and the Cobar region, with significant employment opportunities now coming to market for the Endeavour Mine restart: one of Australia’s major base metals mines.

The Role
As the Mining Manager, you will be responsible for leading the safe and productive operation of the underground mining department as Endeavor returns to production.
Reporting to the General Manager, you will play a key role within the Senior Management Team, and your key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

  • Provide statutory leadership under the NSW Work Health and Safety (Mines and Petroleum Sites) Act and Regulations as the appointed Mine Engineering Manager (non-coal)
  • Oversee all underground production activities, ensuring they are conducted safely, efficiently, and in line with mine plans
  • Lead and mentor the underground mining leadership team to build a high-performance culture focused on safety, productivity and a “can do” teamwork approach
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance, technical services, and processing to align operational priorities and meet site production targets
  • Develop and maintain risk-based systems and processes to ensure compliance with legislative and company requirements
  • Oversee contractor management, operational reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives within the mining department
  • Support the recruitment and development of a strong operational workforce as the site ramps up production
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
  • A current NSW Mine Engineering Manager (non-coal) Practising Certificate (preferable), or the ability to obtain one[MG1]
  • Extensive underground mining experience in a leadership capacity, preferably in base metals or polymetallic operations
  • Strong knowledge of NSW mining legislation and operational risk management
  • Proven ability to lead in a start-up, ramp-up andproduction environment
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a commitment to safety and team development

Already reside in / near Cobar, or willing to relocate to Cobar (preference):
  • 9-day fortnight roster, relocation assistance, modern and rent-free accommodation, vehicle allowance/vehicle provided, and multiple residential subsidies
DIDO / FIFO (agreeable roster to be discussed):
  • DIDO from within NSW, or FIFO from East Coast locations

Cobar is a well-established mining town with shopping, education and health services and a range of recreation, social and sporting facilities. Cobar is only 3 hours drive from the major regional city of Dubbo. Cobar is very accessible to all the Eastern States capitals with daily flights between Cobar and Sydney and is within one days’ driving distance to Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane
