Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is seeking an experienced, innovative, and customer-obsessed Software Development Engineer to lead the development of new robotic products for our Delivery Stations. The successful candidate will join the Amazon Logistics Innovation Engineering team, responsible for strategizing, defining, and managing robotics software development for AMZL Delivery Stations.

This role requires individuals with robotics, engineering, planning, and analytical skills. You will influence the Amazon last mile automation roadmap by collaborating with Robotics, Software Tech Teams, Process Engineering, Operations, Facilities, and Engineering teams to enhance the customer shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and improve software for complex mechatronics products.
• Design software architecture for new automation concepts in AMZL.
• Integrate new vendor technologies into AMZL software systems.
• Test and commission software on machines in Innovation Centers and operational sites.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Advanced expertise in industrial automation systems (e.g., TIA Portal, Codesys, HMI, VFDs, Servo Drives, Industrial Fieldbuses).
• Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (TCP/IP, OPC-UA).
• Hands-on experience with camera systems and Linux OS.
• Proficiency with version control systems like git.
• Experience managing automation software development, including design, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills across diverse teams.
• Knowledge of safety standards and certification processes.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or related field.
• Experience programming in at least one modern language (e.g., C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby).
• Experience in systems design, automation, and process improvement.
• Experience with systems engineering fundamentals and networking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PowerShell, Python, Ruby, or Java.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
