General Manager of Operations - Barossa Auto Group

Summary:

The General Manager of Operations oversees all aspects of the dealership's daily operations, ensuring efficiency, profitability, and exceptional customer service. This role manages departments including sales (new and used), fixed operations, finance, aftercare, and administration to meet the dealership's goals.

This position reports to two full-time Dealer Principals and directly to the CEO, COO, and CFO, with access to the Maughan Thiem Auto Group Board.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Hire, train, and motivate department managers; conduct performance evaluations; ensure departmental efficiency.
  • Financial Management: Monitor budgets, expenses, and financial reports to maintain profitability.
  • Customer Relations: Address customer concerns and ensure high satisfaction; plan customer attraction events.
  • Operational Efficiency: Develop strategies to improve efficiency and profitability; ensure policy compliance.
  • Team Building: Foster a positive work environment, build morale, and promote professional development.
  • Communication: Liaise with manufacturers and third parties; clearly communicate expectations.
  • Attention to Detail & Quality Control: Maintain high standards in all operations.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiency enhancements.
  • Managing a Large Team (60): Provide leadership, delegate effectively, foster collaboration, conduct performance reviews.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in a managerial role within the automotive industry; Dealer Principal experience is a plus.
  • Conditions: Office and dealership environment with occasional travel for meetings and industry events.
