A global recruitment firm is seeking a Yard Engineering Lead in Qatar. This role involves providing engineering support to fabrication yard construction and commissioning activities. Ideal candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 8 years of experience in major oil and gas projects. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential. Working Schedule: 10 hrs/day, 6 days/week, ~26 days/month

The Yard Engineering Lead provides engineering support to fabrication yard construction and commissioning activities, ensuring seamless transition from engineering design to fabrication/commissioning. The role ensures compliance with industry standards and engineering deliverables while supporting the Topside Engineering Division to deliver projects safely, reliably, and on schedule.
Provide follow-on engineering support to fabrication yards to assist with construction, commissioning, and close-out of engineering deliverables.
Review contractor engineering queries, redline mark-ups, and support as-built documentation.
Act as the technical interface between fabrication site and engineering office, resolving site engineering issues.
Participate in design workshops and ensure that recommendations (Lessons Learned, Value Engineering, HAZIDs, etc.) are implemented.
Coordinate with discipline subject matter experts to ensure compliance with design standards and endorsement of technical deviations where required.
Ensure contractor compliance with change management procedures for field-initiated design changes.
Support FAT/SAT and field commissioning activities.
Develop and coordinate procedures for smooth handover of equipment packages to operations.
Ensure timely issuance of engineering deliverables to support site activities.
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
Minimum 8 years of relevant engineering experience in major oil and gas projects.
Broad knowledge of engineering execution, including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, offshore facilities design, construction, and operations.
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary, multicultural teams in offshore environments.
Proficiency in technical report writing and presentations.
High level of proficiency in written and spoken English.
Computer literacy in professional office applications and relevant technical software.
Knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, pipelines, structural, instrumentation, telecom, and electrical systems.
