Job summary

QatarEnergy LNG seeks a seasoned Financial Accountant to manage revenue and cost accounting, ensuring accurate monthly close and reconciliations. You will coordinate with LNG/EC teams, validate invoicing, and prepare volumetric and shareholder reports.

You will maintain internal controls, support audits, and contribute to annual financial statements with cross-functional stakeholders. A strong knowledge of SAP and SharePoint is essential, with a focus on accuracy and compliance in a complex LNG

Qualifications

• 3 years’ work experience in oil and gas in a Financial Accounting role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting systems.
• Knowledge of financial recording and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Perform the required accounting for all product revenues and ensure month end accruals are accurate by reconciling to monthly delivered quantities and actual invoices are posted based on payment statements.
• Complete the accounting of the monthly inventory valuation and review depreciation/royalty/opex rates; coordinate with Specialists for reconciling in-transit volumes to EC.
• Contribute to the preparation of the preliminary and final Volumetric Reports.
• Interface LNG revenue invoices from EC to SAP with control checks and follow up on late submissions.
• Produce schedules for the monthly shareholder pack validating approved values and forecasts with project accounting.

• Apply financial accounting and reporting skills, within the section to perform routine month end procedures that are vital to a successful financial close. Interface with internal and external clients and provide routine information and advice.

Key Job Accountabilities - I

• Perform the required accounting for all product revenues and ensure month end accruals are accurate by reconciling to monthly delivered quantities and actual invoices are posted based on payment statements. Maintain a reconciliation of volumes and revenue.
• Complete the accounting of the monthly inventory valuation. Review and question depreciation/royalty/opex rates used in the calculation. Coordinate with Specialists to ensure in transit volumes reconcile to Energy Components (EC) and the Volumetric Report and produce the reconciliation of production to sold inventory schedule for the Quarterly Entity Review.
• Contribute to the preparation of the preliminary and final Volumetric Reports.
• Coordinate with the Specialist to interface LNG revenue invoices from EC to SAP ensuring control checks are in place and follow up on late invoice submissions.
• Produce specific schedules for the monthly shareholder pack validating the information regarding approved values and forecast with project accounting team.

Key Job Accountabilities - II

• Contribute to the preparation of Annual Financial Statements and assist other team members to complete the monthly reporting activities.
• Maintain section SharePoint site and act as the focal point for information collation for both internal and external audits and perform self-assessments on section specific tasks in preparation for internal audit.
• Contribute to the preparation of statistical returns and any other ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.
• Ensure a strong understanding of the compliance framework including standards of internal controls, addressing control gaps, and recommending process changes and ensure an effective control environment is applied including application of Table of Financial Authority (TOFA).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an accounting, finance, economic or commerce discipline, or
• Bachelor’s degree in any discipline and an internationally recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CA, CFA, CIMA, CMA, CPA).

Knowledge and/or Experience - I

• 3 years’ work experience in oil and gas and 3 years of experience in a Financial Accounting role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of accounting systems.
• Knowledge of financial recording and reporting tools.
