Job summary

Role Description

The UX/UI Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar. This role involves planning and designing intuitive user interfaces, creating user flows, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for web and mobile applications. The specialist will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to translate business objectives and user needs into clear, user-centered designs. Daily responsibilities include conducting user research and usability testing, iterating on designs based on feedback and data, and ensuring visual consistency across platforms through design systems and guidelines. The UX/UI Specialist will also contribute to continuous improvement of Applab’s design practices and support cross-functional teams in delivering high-quality digital experiences.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in UX design, including user research, persona development, user flows, wireframing, and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
• Proficiency in UI design, visual design, and interaction design, with the ability to create responsive, accessible interfaces and maintain design systems.
• Experience collaborating with product, engineering, and business teams, including translating requirements into design solutions and presenting design decisions clearly.
• Familiarity with front-end concepts (e.g., HTML, CSS, component-based frameworks) to ensure designs are feasible and implementable.
• Understanding of usability principles, accessibility standards, and analytics-driven optimization to improve user experience over time.
• Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong portfolio demonstrating end-to-end UX/UI work on complex digital products; experience in digital platforms or enterprise solutions is an advantage.
• Ability to work on-site in Doha, Qatar, with strong communication skills and a collaborative, user-centered mindset.
