Oryx University Research Office invites applications for an Undergraduate Research Assistant position within the Civil Engineering Program. The selected candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research under the QRDI-funded project focusing on geotechnical materials and innovative testing approaches. This role is designed for motivated undergraduate students seeking hands-on research experience in a professional academic setting.
Responsibilities
- Perform laboratory-based experimental tests related to geotechnical materials.
- Assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of test results.
- Conduct literature reviews to support experimental and analytical aspects of the research.
- Participate in the modification of testing procedures as needed.
- Investigate and propose alternative materials or testing methods relevant to project goals.
- Carry out additional research-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
- Oryx University graduates will be given priority.
- Strong interest in geotechnical engineering and laboratory-based research.
- Basic knowledge of soil mechanics and material testing methods is desirable.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and contribute to a research team.
- Good communication and analytical skills.
