Type: Part-time (approx. 20 hours/week)

Oryx University Research Office invites applications for an Undergraduate Research Assistant position within the Civil Engineering Program. The selected candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research under the funded project by QRDI focusing on geotechnical materials and innovative testing approaches. This role is designed for motivated undergraduate students seeking hands-on research experience in a professional academic setting.

Responsibilities
  • Perform laboratory-based experimental tests related to geotechnical materials.
  • Assist in the collection, analysis, and reporting of test results.
  • Conduct literature reviews to support experimental and analytical aspects of the research.
  • Participate in the modification of testing procedures as needed.
  • Investigate and propose alternative materials or testing methods relevant to project goals.
  • Carry out additional research-related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (fresh graduates are encouraged to apply).
  • Oryx University graduates will be given priority.
  • Strong interest in geotechnical engineering and laboratory-based research.
  • Basic knowledge of soil mechanics and material testing methods is desirable.
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and contribute to a research team.
