Job description

We are seeking a UI/UX Design Manager to oversee the management and development of all graphical user interface (GUI) elements across inflight entertainment systems, connectivity portals, and IFEC applications. This role will shape the end-to-end user interaction and experience on seatback screens, handsets, and mobile applications, ensuring intuitive functionality, seamless navigation, and brand consistency.

You will be responsible for both design and operational activities, managing GUI development, customisation, and implementation across current and future fleets, while collaborating with multiple OEM suppliers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Research and evaluate emerging UI/UX technologies and best practices across digital platforms, integrating them into the GUI design framework.
• Develop intuitive, user-friendly, and visually engaging interfaces for seatback IFE systems and IFEC mobile applications.
• Create user flows and navigation structures that reflect leading UX trends, drawing inspiration from OTT and consumer tech providers, ensuring accessibility for all age groups.
• Ensure brand consistency and design continuity across all IFEC platforms and applications.
• Manage stakeholder deliverables across multiple OEM suppliers, aligning GUI solutions with technical system requirements.
• Plan and execute test scenarios for GUI development and deployment.
• Promote workplace safety by ensuring managers and supervisors understand and implement relevant health and safety practices.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with at least 6 years’ experience in product development and design.
• Strong background in inflight entertainment and connectivity systems, either with an airline or an IFE/C vendor.
• Hands-on experience with GUI design for aviation systems across multiple OEM platforms.
• Skilled in UI/web/application development with Linux and Android-based systems.
• Excellent command of English, with strong communication and presentation skills.
• Managerial capabilities with experience mentoring, training, and developing team members.
• Knowledge of media encoding, integration, and content delivery.
