Job Description

• Assist in preparing type approval procedures and coordinate with the concerned parties on the development of equipment referred to them.
• Conducts evaluation tests on wireless, radio, and telecom terminal equipment submitted for type approval, dissembling and reassembling items as necessary.
• Carries out necessary test and measurements and records test results and advise accordingly.
• Maintains all data and information related to type approval granted and update documents.
• Prepare the General Authorization rules of type approved equipment and advise Customs Authorities on regular basis.
• Collect and compile technical data, specifications …etc, for the radio equipment through approved reference sources.
• Search and analyses international standards and prepares technical reports to be reviewed by the line management.
• Recommends to line management required test equipment for conducting type approval tests.
• Prepare and submit monthly statistics reports on number of applications and type approval etc for line management.
• Assist in the preparation of setting technical rules and standards specifications applicable to telecommunications and telecom terminal equipment to ensure against damage to telecommunications networks or services or to public health, safety, or the environment.
• Takes responsibility for the safekeeping and maintenance of Type Approval test equipment, software, machines under the incumbent's control when instructed by Line management
• Performs any other related duties as required
• Examines radio, wireless and telecoms equipment for type approval and makes recommendations
• Grant the necessary type approvals and regulate the import and usages of radio, wireless and telecom terminal equipment for individual and private uses.
