Local Division Sales Manager - Qatar

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for sales of products/systems/services within a designated Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC) in accordance with strategy. Build long term customer relationships and manage resolution to specific customer needs and issues. Identify and develop sales opportunities. The Technical Account Manager plays a critical role in ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty for their assigned accounts. The Technical Account Manager ensures the customer receives exceptional service that exceeds their expectations. The work model for this role (onsite) contributes to Process Automation Business Area based in Doha, Qatar. You will be mainly accountable for:

  1. Assisting customers’ technical requests and engaging with colleagues to take care of any technical issues.
  2. Building strong customer relationships on technical, maintenance, and operational levels.
  3. Leveraging familiarity with their assigned accounts, supporting the customer proactively by anticipating their needs.
  4. Coordinating resources within ABB and breaking down any barriers impeding progress.
  5. Building strong relations within cross-functional teams.
  6. Collaborating with the Account Managers (sales) to timely provide offers responding to customer needs and proactively identify contract growth opportunities leveraging the full breadth of ABB service portfolio.
  7. Identifying service and system sales opportunities for expanding ABB’s value to the customer and growing the service contracts at their assigned customers.
  8. Ensuring that plant fleet under service agreement receives evolution plans and life cycle reports supported by technology segment experts.
  9. Managing Service Contracts deliverables, on-time delivery, and customers’ requirements as well as financial KPIs, and keeping track of performance metrics and communicating progress to internal and customer stakeholders through respective Manager.
  10. Responsible for 100% renewal of service contracts at their assigned accounts.
  11. Accountable for measuring, reporting, and presenting the value of the services delivered to key customer stakeholders which range from maintenance managers to plant managers.
  12. Analyzing customers’ needs and suggesting upgrades or additional features to meet their requirements.
  13. Identifying solutions to reduce support costs.
  14. Liaising with the sales department to win new business and increase sales.
  15. Keeping track of sales performance metrics.
  16. Establishing best practices, providing technical support for customers to support pre-sales and post-sales processes.
Qualifications for the role
  • Graduate Engineer in Electrical /Automation/ Equivalent Engineering (electrical automation major is preferred).
  • 8 years of relevant experience in Oil & Gas Industry with at least 5 years of Technical Account Management /Technical Lead experience.
  • Knowledge of ABB Energy Industries products and solutions in Oil and Gas and other process Industries.
  • Solid technical background with hands-on experience in DCS/ Safety System (ESD/FGS), SCADA/RTU, PMS/ELICS system of ABB and or other OEM systems.
  • Knowledge of ABB Legacy System (Infi90, Freelance), ABB ICSS system (AC800M/AC800MHI), and Instrumentation System.
  • An ability to grasp customers’ needs and suggest timely solutions.
  • Knowledge in industrial communication protocols like Modbus RTU, TCP, OPC, Field bus – Profibus, Profinet & FF etc.
  • Must be result-driven with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Fluent in English.
