Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Qatar seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to oversee design and review processes for HV substations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include design document verification and providing technical support during project execution. A strong understanding of IEC 62271 standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years’ experience in HV substation projects.
• Proven GIS/Power Transformer/NER/AC/DC auxiliaries system expertise.
• Sensitivity/HV PD Test knowledge and standards requirements.

Responsibilities

• Review and verify design documents and technical specifications of GIS/AIS substations.
• Conduct design reviews for various electrical systems.
• Provide technical support during execution and commissioning.

Job description

Responsibilities:

- Review and verify design documents, technical specifications, and drawings of GIS/AIS substations (132–400 kV).

- Conduct design reviews for GIS, transformers, CT/VTs, reactors, busbars, AC/DC systems.

- Participate in FAT/SAT and provide technical support during execution and commissioning.

- Coordinate with civil, mechanical, cable, and protection teams.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

- Minimum 10 years’ experience in HV substation projects.

- Strong knowledge of IEC 62271 and related standards.

- Proven GIS/Power Transformer/NER/AC/DC auxiliaries system /substation earthing system/OLTC expertise.
