Overview
mselect is looking to hire a Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Supply Chain for an Aerospace & Defence manufacturing client in Doha, Qatar. Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience in supply chain roles within the defence, aerospace, or government contracting sectors. Fluency in English is a must.
Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on all aspects of defence supply chain operations, including planning, sourcing, logistics, and sustainment
- Analyze supply chain performance and develop strategies to reduce risk, improve efficiency, and ensure timely delivery of mission-critical materials and components
- Led the design and implementation of supply chain frameworks that align with program schedules, contractual requirements, and defence readiness objectives
- Collaborate with engineering, production, procurement, quality, and program management teams to synchronize supply chain activities
- Evaluate and manage supplier performance, including audits, quality reviews, compliance with defence standards, and risk mitigation strategies
- Support inventory optimization, demand forecasting, and lifecycle logistics planning for military platforms and systems
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations such as FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and the Berry Amendment
- Utilize ERP, MRP, and logistics systems to track and manage material flows and supply chain metrics
- Advise on supply chain resilience, including contingency planning, cyber risk, and geopolitical sourcing concerns
- Prepare and deliver reports, dashboards, and briefings for senior leadership, program offices, and government customers
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
- 10+ years of experience in supply chain roles within the defence, aerospace, or government contracting sectors
- Strong knowledge of DoD supply chain regulations, acquisition policies, and logistics frameworks
- Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, Oracle), logistics tracking tools, and data analysis platforms
- Demonstrated success in leading supply chain optimization and risk mitigation initiatives
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Business Administration
- Professional certifications such as CPSM, CSCP, CLTD, or PMP
- Experience supporting major defence acquisition programs or international military logistics
- Familiarity with NATO supply standards and global defence supply chain networks
- Experience with digital supply chain transformation, including AI/ML-based forecasting and blockchain in logistics
