Job summary

A global workforce solutions provider is seeking a Structural Engineering Lead (Civil) in Qatar for a critical leadership position in a large-scale onshore LNG development project. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and at least 8 years of experience in civil/structural engineering for large oil and gas projects. Responsibilities include overseeing engineering compliance and managing project schedules.

Location: Onshore – Qatar (Site/Doha HQ)

Start Date: ASAP (typically within 1-month notice)

Duration: Long-term contract

Schedule: 6 days/week, 8–10 hours/day

About the Role

We are currently supporting a major Oil & Gas operator in Qatar to source a Structural Engineering Lead (Civil). This is a critical leadership role in a large-scale onshore LNG development project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a visible SHES leader, setting the highest safety standards.
  • Oversee structural engineering to ensure compliance with project specs, local codes, and international standards.
  • Resolve discipline-specific design issues and provide technical direction for civil/structural activities.
  • Steward the EPC contractor's design activities and ensure their engineering personnel and software tools are fit-for-purpose.
  • Support cross-discipline teams including procurement, construction, commissioning, and quality.
  • Manage FEED and EPC interface coordination with stakeholders (MP Onplot/Offplot, RLIC, third parties).
  • Ensure project schedules and deliverables are met within the civil/structural discipline.
Candidate Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years\' experience in civil/structural engineering in large oil & gas projects
  • Minimum 5 years in detailed engineering and execution (EPC phase)
  • Strong knowledge of onshore LNG plant standards and infrastructure
  • Proven experience with FEED (Front End Engineering Design)
  • Middle East/Qatar experience is a plus
