Job summary

QatarEnergy Qatarization seeks a senior professional to lead expert QA/QC across offshore projects, owning the implementation and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS).

You will ensure compliance with QatarEnergy standards, international codes, and project specifications, while guiding the development and monitoring of Project Quality Plans (PQPs) to consistently meet regulatory and contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years QA/QC experience in oil and gas, with significant offshore project exposure.
• At least 5 years in a Senior QA/QC Engineer or equivalent role.
• Qualified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor; additional QA certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Quality Management System (QMS) across offshore projects and ensure continual improvement.
• Develop, implement, and monitor Project Quality Plans (PQPs) to meet objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with QatarEnergy standards, Shell DEP requirements, and international codes and standards.
• Oversee inspection, certification processes, and QA/QC activities across engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning phases.

Job description

Primary Purpose of the Job

This position is responsible for providing expert quality management leadership and technical guidance across offshore projects, with full accountability for the effective implementation and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) within the Offshore Projects Department.

The role ensures compliance with QatarEnergy standards, Shell DEP requirements, project specifications, and applicable international codes and standards throughout all project phases. The successful candidate will oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of Project Quality Plans (PQPs) to ensure quality objectives are achieved and regulatory and contractual requirements are consistently met.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 15 years of QA/QC experience in the oil and gas industry, including significant offshore project experience.


• At least 5 years,' experience in a similar Senior QA/QC Engineer or equivalent position.


• Qualified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor; additional quality-related certifications are preferred.


• Strong knowledge of quality management systems, international codes, standards, and QA/QC best practices.


• Experience across the full project lifecycle, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning.


• Working knowledge of equipment and material inspection, certification processes, and associated QA/QC requirements.


• Sound understanding of offshore construction, welding, and non‑destructive examination (NDE) techniques.


• Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized university, preferably Mechanical Engineering.


• Master's degree in a relevant discipline is preferred.


• Membership of a recognized professional engineering institution is advantageous.


• Chartered Engineer status or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.
