Job summary

Confidential Company is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer (MEP) to review, coordinate and approve HVAC, plumbing, drainage and firefighting allocations on Qatar projects. You will ensure design integrity, supervise procurement inputs and support field teams in resolving technical issues.

The ideal candidate has 12–15 years of experience in MEP contracting, strong knowledge of international codes, and Qatar or GCC project exposure. Qatar-based candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 12–15 years of relevant experience in MEP contracting and building services.

Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate mechanical drawings, specs and design documents for HVAC, plumbing, drainage and firefighting.
• Prepare and approve technical submittals, shop drawings and material take-offs.
• Ensure compliance with project specs, Qatar regulations, and client requirements.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors and suppliers to resolve technical issues.
• Attend meetings, site inspections and commissioning activities and support QA/QC.

Job description

Review and coordinate mechanical engineering drawings technical specifications and design documents for HVAC plumbing drainage firefighting and other mechanical building services Prepare review and approve technical submittals material submittals method statements shop drawings and material take-offs Ensure compliance with project specifications applicable Qatar regulations international standards and client requirements Coordinate with consultants clients contractors suppliers and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues Provide technical guidance and support to site engineers draftsmen supervisors and project teams Review and coordinate HVAC ducting chilled water piping plumbing drainage and firefighting system installations Monitor project progress and ensure mechanical works are executed according to approved drawings quality standards and project schedules Attend technical meetings site inspections and coordination meetings with clients and consultants Identify design discrepancies site-related technical challenges and potential clashes and recommend appropriate solutions Ensure proper implementation of QA QC procedures inspection and testing requirements and commissioning activities Review testing and commissioning reports as-built drawings operation and maintenance manuals and handover documentation Assist in procurement by reviewing technical specifications evaluating materials and coordinating with suppliers Support project management in resolving technical matters controlling variations and minimizing delays and rework

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 12–15 years of relevant experience in MEP contracting and mechanical building services.

Strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing and drainage, firefighting systems, and mechanical installations.

Qatar or GCC project experience is highly preferred.only for Qatar based candidates.
