Job description

Position Summary

The individual will be primarily responsible for supporting assigned key S4Vidsys accounts in Qatar, focused on helping the client optimize their investment in security and information management solutions. Responsibilities will include communications with internal Engineering and Product Management groups, actual configuration and implementation at client sites, conducting testing, verification, validation and user acceptance, as well as being the focal point for support through the operation of the system. Also, responsible for implementing associated rules and action plans using proprietary application tools.

Technical expertise must include software development experience in Java EE web-based applications AND Web Services (SOAP and REST); experience with .NET standalone applications is beneficial.

The position will be part of Salam Security Systems & Services-S4Vidsys and report to Head of Engineering, with day-to-day tasking and oversight by a designated Program Manager.

Required Work Experience and Skills

The following skills and attributes are necessary to be successful in this position:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences
• Hands-on Tomcat Application Server and Apache Web Server is a must.
• Must be autonomous and have excellent analytical, troubleshooting and debugging skills including:
• Analyse multiple logs, find exceptions/errors, identify root causes and define/suggest/apply required fixes
• Analyse OS resources consumption (CPU, Memory, Handles, …) and anticipate/pre-identify potential resources leak issue
• JVM and TCP connections profiling.
• Hands-on multi-servers' environments
• 5+ Years of professional experience with Java EE web-based applications
• 3+ Years of experience with technologies such as Servlets, JMS, ActiveMQ.
• Experience with relational databases with PostgreSQL and/or Microsoft SQL Server
• Experience with the automated build process, unit testing, performance testing and load testing
• Experience in designing scalable, reliable, and high-performance web-based applications
• Experience with front-end technologies like HTML/HTML5, CSS, JSP, JavaScript, AJAX, JQuery
• Experience integrating with external systems using vendor provided APIs (.NET, C, and/or Java) and Web
• Experience with rules engines and translating customer requirements into business rules is strongly desired.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to ramp up quickly and assimilate technical and functional knowledge of our product solutions for effective interactions with clients.
