Job summary

GHD is seeking a Site Architect in Qatar to support the Programme Management Group. You will review architectural submittals, supervise on-site works, and ensure compliance with drawings, codes, and safety requirements.

You will coordinate with PMs, review BIM models, and resolve on-site architectural issues. The ideal candidate has 12+ years post-graduate experience, with 5+ years in design review and construction supervision on large projects.

Qualifications

Degree in Architecture or a related field.
Minimum of 12 years of postgraduate experience with 5+ years in architectural design review and construction supervision on large projects.
Strong technical knowledge and on-site issue resolution.
Good knowledge of local building codes, Qatar Construction Specifications, and authority requirements.
Qatar professional registration preferred.

Responsibilities

Lead architectural coordination with other disciplines and support PM on site.
Process contract documents and administration related to architectural works.
Develop, modify and update architectural drawings and design information.
Advise PM on technical matters affecting progress, quality, cost, safety or programme.
Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs and as-built documentation for BIM-enabled compliance.
Provide practical resolutions to architectural issues and coordinate implementation on site.
Monitor architectural and interior works for compliance with documents and quality standards.
Undertake site observations, inspections and material checks.
Attend project meetings and draft site instructions when required.
Assist in handling variations and contractor claims.
Oversee architects and inspectors to ensure contractual obligations.
