Job summary

Not disclosed energy organisation is seeking a Ship HSE & Incident Officer to support LNG shipping operations, maritime risk management and incident response across a global LNG fleet environment.

This role will play a key part in supporting shipping HSSE governance, emergency response coordination, maritime security monitoring and operational resilience activities within a fast-paced international shipping operation.

Qualifications

• Class 1 Certificate of Competency OR degree qualified in Marine, Engineering, Business or similar.
• Experience in LNG shipping, marine operations, HSSE, maritime security or incident management.
• Ability to stay calm and make sound decisions under pressure.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Willingness to support out-of-hours incidents as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain LNG shipping incident response and emergency management procedures.
• Act as the focal point for LNG ship incident reporting and stakeholder communications.
• Support incident response activities during marine emergencies and operational disruptions.
• Coordinate mobilisation exercises, emergency drills and response simulations with ship operators and internal teams.
• Monitor global maritime security risks and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Support shipping risk assessments and mitigation in line with enterprise risk management.
• Assist with external HSSE audits and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role will play a key part in supporting shipping HSSE governance, emergency response coordination, maritime security monitoring and operational resilience activities within a fast‑paced international shipping operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain LNG shipping incident response and emergency management procedures
• Act as the focal point for LNG ship incident reporting and stakeholder communications
• Support and facilitate incident response activities during marine emergencies and operational disruptions
• Coordinate mobilisation exercises, emergency drills and response simulations with ship operators and internal teams
• Monitor global maritime security risks and provide timely operational updates to stakeholders
• Support shipping risk assessments and mitigation activities in line with enterprise risk management processes
• Assist with external HSSE audits and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

• Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Master Mariner / Chief Engineer) OR degree qualified within Marine, Engineering, Business or similar
• Previous experience within LNG shipping, marine operations, HSSE, maritime security or incident management environments
• Strong understanding of marine HSSE standards and operational risk management
• Experience supporting or operating within incident response frameworks would be advantageous
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during high‑pressure operational situations
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
• Flexible approach with willingness to support out‑of‑hours operational incidents when required
