Job summary

GHD is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to join our team in Doha. You will design and develop structural systems for buildings and infrastructure projects, leading the interface with clients and project teams.

You will mentor junior engineers and BIM technicians, ensure quality and safety, coordinate with MEP, architecture and utilities, and deliver innovative, cost-conscious solutions in reinforced concrete and steelwork, with a focus on BIM-enabled design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering; master's preferred.
• Minimum 8 years in structural engineering focusing on building structures.
• Professional engineering license or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience designing water-retaining structures, building structures, steelwork or related infrastructure.
• Experience coordinating with MEP, Architecture, Utilities in multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) and CAD tools.
• Strong project management; lead multidisciplinary teams, manage budgets and schedules.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; client/stakeholder relations.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills would be advantageous.
• Experience in 3D design environment and BIM protocols.
• Knowledge of retail, commercial and/or industrial sectors advantageous.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Structural Engineer to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing structural systems for various building and infrastructure projects.

• The successful candidate will be a Senior Structural Engineer with a proven track record in the design of buildings and civil engineering or infrastructure-related structures, in reinforced concrete, and structural steelwork.

Experience & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or Structural Engineering. Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on design of building structures.
• Professional engineering license or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience undertaking the design of water-retaining structures, building structures, steelwork or related infrastructure
• Has worked within multi-disciplinary teams, and has been responsible for co-ordination with MEP, Architecture, Utilities.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro) and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and motivate multidisciplinary teams, manage project budgets and schedules, and deliver successful outcomes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering structural engineering projects, with a focus on safety, quality, and innovation.
• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills would be advantageous.
• Experience of working within a 3D design environment is needed and an ability to work to BIM protocols would be desirable
• A knowledge of practices and procedures used within the retail, commercial and/or industrial sectors would be an advantage.
