Job summary

Qamia is hiring a Software Engineer to own problems end to end, from data and formulation to solvers running in production at customer sites.

You will work with customer engineering teams and Qamia's founders to build, test and deploy the platform, ensuring AI-generated models are correct and robust in real-world environments.

Qualifications

• PhD in Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science or a related quantitative field, or a Master’s degree and 5+ years of equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Experience formulating and solving large-scale combinatorial optimization problems.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.

Qamia builds a platform that takes an enterprise's historical data and a problem description, turns them into a mathematical model, and solves it through an agentic layer of classical and hybrid quantum-classical optimizers. We work with organizations in different industries, such as telecom, aviation and energy.

As a Software Engineer, you will own problems end to end, from data and formulation to solvers running in production at customer sites. You will work directly with customer engineering teams and with Qamia's founders.

• Turn customer business problems into mathematical models and choose the right solution approach.
• Build and tune high-performance optimization solvers.
• Build and operate the backend services behind the platform.
• Ensure the correctness and quality of AI-generated models.
• Deploy and support the platform in customer environments, including on-premise.
• PhD in Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer Science or a related quantitative field, or a Master's degree and 5+ years of equivalent industry experience.
• 3+ years of experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Experience formulating and solving large-scale combinatorial optimization problems.
• Proficiency in C++ and Python.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with optimization solvers (e.g., Gurobi, CPLEX, OR-Tools, HiGHS) and decomposition methods.
• Experience with metaheuristics or GPU-accelerated optimization.
• Experience with stochastic or robust optimization.
• Experience with distributed systems, Kubernetes and a major cloud platform.
• Experience building LLM-based agents or tool-calling systems.
• Familiarity with quantum computing or hybrid quantum-classical solvers.
• Strong communication with technical and executive audiences. Arabic is a plus.
