Job summary

Swan Global in Doha, Qatar, seeks an experienced Mechanical Draftsman to produce detailed piping and mechanical drawings for oil and gas projects. Proficient in AutoCAD 2D/3D and Plant 3D, you will deliver accurate drawings and support isometrics, P&IDs and BOM preparation.

The role requires 7+ years in the sector, strong drafting skills, and familiarity with piping standards, As-Built processes and site verification. collaboration with engineers and planners is essential.

Qualifications

• HND/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (3 years) OR ITI – Mechanical Draftsman (2 years).
• Minimum 7 years of drafting experience in Oil & Gas, Refinery or Petrochemical plants/consultancies.
• Strong knowledge of AutoCAD 2D & 3D.
• Knowledge of Plant 3D and other CAD design software is preferred.
• Strong experience in Mechanical & Piping drafting.
• Good knowledge of piping materials, standards and codes is preferred.
• Experience in As-Built drawings and site surveys is required.
• Good knowledge of MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed Mechanical and Piping drawings using AutoCAD and other CAD software.
• Prepare and update Piping Isometrics, GA drawings, P&IDs, piping layouts, pipe routing, pipe support and equipment drawings.
• Develop drawings based on engineering calculations, sketches, mark-ups, specifications and site measurements.
• Conduct site surveys and measurements to verify existing piping, equipment and facilities.
• Update drawings to As-Built status based on site verification and mark-ups.
• Prepare and update Material Take-Off (MTO) / Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Review vendor catalogues, equipment specifications and existing/archived drawings for required information.
• Ensure drawings meet required accuracy, quality, standards and project specifications.
• Support drafting requirements for projects, MOC, PIR and IAT activities
