A leading legal consultancy in Qatar is seeking a seasoned legal professional to provide high-quality advice on compliance and corporate governance. The role involves managing litigation processes and leading a legal team. Candidates should have at least 12 years of experience, with 5 years in senior management. Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic thinking skills are essential. Proficiency in English is required; Arabic is a plus.

Job description

Provide high-quality legal advice and support on legal risks, compliance, and corporate governance to enable the organization and its joint ventures to operate lawfully, effectively, and ethically.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct legal research, monitor regulatory changes, and ensure compliance across operations.

Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and corporate policies to align with legal and business objectives.

Manage litigation processes, coordinate with external legal advisors, and oversee dispute resolution.

Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental strategies aligned with organizational goals.

Lead and develop the legal team to achieve performance objectives and ensure talent readiness.

Oversee departmental budgeting, cost control, and financial performance monitoring.

Implement policies, procedures, and best practices to ensure efficiency and compliance.

Drive change management and continuous improvement initiatives.

Prepare accurate and timely legal reports for management.

Qualifications & Experience:

Education: Bachelors degree in Law or related field (MBA preferred).

Experience: 12 years in legal roles, with at least 5 years in senior management.

Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with power, energy, and water sectors is advantageous.

Skills:

Strong leadership, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities.

Excellent strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Proficiency in English (Arabic is an advantage).

Ability to build strong relationships and work effectively with multicultural teams.
