You will plan and lead risk-based internal audit engagements across two operationally interconnected environments — hospitality and facility management — bringing equal depth and credibility in both. This is a senior hands-on role for someone who has spent meaningful time auditing or working within hospitality operations and FM service delivery, and who understands how risks in both domains interact across a managed asset portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and lead risk-based internal audit engagements across PIH's hospitality operations, covering F&B cost control, inventory management, procurement, revenue assurance, cash handling, outlet-level operational controls, and brand/franchise compliance
- Plan and lead internal audit engagements across facility management operations, covering service delivery controls, maintenance contracts, SLA compliance, vendor and subcontractor management, asset lifecycle management, and planned preventive maintenance (PPM) governance
- Assess the adequacy and effectiveness of controls across integrated service models where hospitality and FM functions intersect — including managed properties, mixed-use assets, and outsourced FM arrangements
- Identify operational risk, revenue leakage, contractual non-compliance, and control weaknesses across both domains
- Develop and execute Risk Control Matrices (RCMs), distinguishing design effectiveness (DE) from operating effectiveness (OE) across hospitality and FM-specific processes
- Perform fieldwork, gather evidence, and document workpapers to a standard that supports clear, defensible audit conclusions
- Draft audit findings and lead audit reports end-to-end, ensuring findings are accurate, risk-rated, well-evidenced, and accompanied by actionable recommendations
- Engage with hospitality operations management, FM service leads, and asset management teams to discuss observations and agree corrective action plans
- Track open findings through to remediation closure
- Guide and review the work of junior auditors assigned to engagements
- Support the Internal Audit Manager in planning and scoping Assets Group engagements
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Hospitality Management, Facilities Management, Engineering, or related field; professional certification preferred or in progress (CIA, CPA, CFE, or equivalent)
- Minimum 5–8 years of internal audit or assurance experience, with strong demonstrated coverage across both:
- – Hospitality and F&B operations (multi-outlet, hotel, or managed hospitality environments)
- – Facility management (hard and/or soft services, SLA-based contracts, asset lifecycle, PPM governance)
- Deep understanding of hospitality‑specific risk areas including F&B cost control, revenue assurance, inventory shrinkage, cash management, and franchise/brand compliance
- Strong understanding of FM‑specific risk areas including contractor management, SLA/KPI compliance, planned vs. reactive maintenance ratios, and asset register integrity
- Experience auditing integrated or mixed‑use asset environments where hospitality and FM functions overlap is a strong advantage
- Solid fieldwork, workpaper documentation, and report writing skills
- Ability to engage confidently with operations, asset management, and finance stakeholders
- Experience with risk-based audit methodologies aligned to the IIA IPPF
- Based in or willing to relocate to Doha, Qatar
