Job summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Environmental & Sustainability Engineer to lead environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives in Qatar. The role requires managing plans, monitoring performance, and ensuring adherence to regulations and client requirements.

The candidate should bring 15+ years of experience, with 7+ years in related roles, and experience on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects. Qatar/GCC exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant environmental discipline is required.
• Minimum 15 years total professional experience and 7 years in related roles.
• Experience on large-scale construction or infrastructure projects preferred.
• Qatar/GCC project experience is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor environmental and sustainability plans for the project.
• Ensure compliance with Qatar environmental regulations and client requirements.
• Review and monitor the Environmental Management Plan and related procedures.
• Monitor environmental performance and identify risks during construction.
• Conduct regular environmental inspections and site audits.
• Oversee dust, noise, vibration, waste, water, energy, emissions, soil, and biodiversity controls.
• Manage waste, recycling, and resource conservation initiatives.
• Track permits, approvals, and compliance documentation.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and regulators on environmental matters.
• Identify non-conformities and implement corrective actions.
• Develop sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact.
• Support energy and water conservation, waste reduction, and sustainable practices.
• Monitor KPIs and prepare environment reports for stakeholders.
• Provide training on environmental and sustainability topics.
