Job summary

QatarEnergy in Doha seeks an experienced Environmental Engineer to provide expertise across offshore projects. The role supports all phases from design to commissioning, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and industry standards.

Strong stakeholder communication is essential. The candidate will lead environmental assurance, develop environmental management plans, and conduct risk assessments (EIA, ENVID, HAZID, HIRA).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field, required.
• Postgraduate qualification in Environmental Engineering, Project Management, or related field would be advantageous.
• Professional membership or certification with a recognized engineering, environmental, or HSE body is preferred.

Job description

Purpose of the Job

Responsible for providing environmental engineering expertise across offshore greenfield and brownfield projects The role supports all project phases including detailed engineering fabrication construction installation and commissioning ensuring compliance with applicable environmental regulations project specifications and industry standards The successful candidate will provide technical guidance and environmental assurance throughout the project lifecycle contributing to the safe efficient and timely delivery of offshore facilities within approved budgets and agreed performance objectives

Required Experience and Skills

Minimum 12 years environmental engineering experience in the Oil amp Gas industry preferably supporting offshore greenfield and brownfield projects Strong knowledge of environmental regulations HSE requirements industry standards and best practices applicable to offshore projects Experience conducting and reviewing environmental and risk assessment studies including EIA ENVID HAZID HIRA and QRA Proven ability to develop and review environmental management plans procedures and compliance documentation Familiarity with environmental impacts and risks across the full project lifecycle including construction operations decommissioning and abandonment Strong stakeholder management communication and presentation skills

Educational Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related Engineering discipline from a recognized university. A postgraduate qualification in Environmental Engineering, Project Management, or a related field would be advantageous. Professional membership or certification with a recognized engineering, environmental, or HSE professional body is preferred.
