Job summary

KEO International in Doha, Qatar seeks an experienced Contract Engineer to join and be seconded to a government-sector client. You will manage contractual requirements across engineering and construction, coordinating with project managers, engineers and design teams to ensure compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires strong knowledge of contract administration, law and project management, plus experience in handling variations, scope changes and technical queries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in contract management or contract engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a Contract Engineer role or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, contract law and project management principles.
  • Experience with contract management software and tools would be advantageous.
  • Professional certification in contract management, such as CPCM, would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and interpreting technical specifications, contract requirements and engineering documentation to ensure compliance.
  • Managing and monitoring contractual requirements relating to engineering and construction activities, specifications, standards and applicable regulations.
  • Monitoring project performance, milestones and deliverables to ensure compliance with contractual requirements, programme and budget.
  • Coordinating with project managers, engineers, construction teams and design teams to ensure contract requirements are properly incorporated into project activities.
  • Managing technical and scope changes, variations and contract amendments, including their documentation, communication and implementation.
  • Preparing and maintaining contract documentation, including tender bulletins, negotiations, clarifications and approved qualifications.
  • Reviewing work and service scopes for tenders and change requests in coordination with the relevant technical teams.
  • Preparing regular contract status, performance and compliance reports for senior management.
  • Monitoring and supporting the resolution of non-conformities and contractual issues.
  • Managing and supervising construction activities to ensure compliance with contract requirements.
  • Monitoring the RFI process, ensuring Site Teams are raising RFIs as required, reviewing RFIs and coordinating with the Design Manager on contractor design elements.
  • Supporting the review of contractor submissions, technical documentation and other contractual deliverables.
