Job summary

QC+ seeks a senior Collections and Gallery Operations Manager to steward artworks and design objects, oversee logistics, and lead buyers. The role requires strong registrar experience, provenance support, and compliance with international handling standards.

You will supervise two Gallery Associates, coordinate with artists and shipping partners, and contribute to budgeting and strategic planning to support exhibitions, consultancy, and sales initiatives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8+ years’ experience in a commercial gallery, museum or art logistics environment with collections management and sourcing responsibilities.
• Expert knowledge of international artwork handling, documentation, shipping and insurance processes.
• Experience with collections management systems (ArtLogic, Arternal, ArtBase, TMS or similar).
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of the art market and design sector.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary registrar for the gallery, overseeing all artwork and design object records and condition reporting.
• Maintain inventory management system with accurate cataloguing and digital archiving.
• Coordinate rentals, consignments and sales including contracts, insurance, shipping docs, customs, and courier coordination.
• Oversee day-to-day gallery operations, policies, workflows and systems across front- and back-of-house areas.
• Lead acquisition procedures for the design gallery and manage purchase orders, pricing, and margins.
