The successful candidate will provide a world-class education to our 608 secondary pupils and help them achieve their maximum potential. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and outstanding educator who shares our vision to join our aspirational and dedicated school community.

The School

Mesaieed International School is a not-for-profit, non-selective, community school owned and operated by QatarEnergy. It offers a thriving, happy, and vibrant environment with high aspirations for its students, staff, and the diverse community it serves. Our school lies at the heart of a kind and welcoming community and is situated across three individual campuses: Secondary, Primary, and EYFS. As a through-school, we offer the National Curriculum for England to over 1,200 students aged 3-19 years, representing more than 30 different nationalities.

Our vision is for our students to become high-achieving, healthy, and happy individuals, well-prepared to take their place as global citizens and leaders of the future. Our mission is to achieve this through inspirational teaching that places high value on learning, enjoyment, and the well-being of all our students.

We are proud to be a Bilingual and Multilingual SMART School, an accreditation recognising our ongoing efforts to ensure staff understand the research, best practices, and approaches that truly impact bilingual and multilingual learners and their families.

We are committed to developing a culture of excellence in which our pupils and staff can flourish. Our dedication to refining our teaching craft to be the very best for our students is at the core of everything we do at MIS. All of us are passionate about growth, constantly improving through careful reflection and deep thought. For this reason, MIS is a very special place to work.

The Role

We are seeking a suitably experienced, creative, and dynamic Teacher of Physics who can inspire both students and colleagues while building upon the department's success. Our Physics students achieve outstanding results, with 86% of A2 students attaining A*-A grades. At AS level, 38% secured A grades and 66% A-B, while at IGCSE, 74% achieved top grades of 9-7, consistently outperforming global benchmarks and demonstrating the strength of our program.

We are looking for a teacher with a passion for engaging students in the wonders of Physics and shaping thinking and practice as we continue striving for excellence in all areas of our school. You will be a tireless advocate for your subject and forward-thinking in your approaches to development, change, and improvement. This year, we are beginning work on our innovative concept-based curriculum. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful curriculum design as we reshape what and how students learn during their time with us.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • A comprehensive record of teaching experience (KS3-KS5) and a strong knowledge of the National Curriculum for England, including (I)GCSE and A-Level Physics specifications.
  • A passion for Physics and a commitment to providing the best education and opportunities for our students through a solution-focused approach.
  • The ability to work independently while remaining a strong team member.
  • A willingness to contribute to the thriving extra-curricular life of our school, including science-related clubs, competitions, and events.

You will be relentless in your pursuit of excellence. Mesaieed International School is bursting with potential, making this post ideal for a teacher who wants to make a real difference in a supportive and forward-thinking school.
