Job summary

The School Social Worker position is a full-time, on-site role based in Doha, Qatar. You will provide direct social and emotional support to students through individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and ongoing case management.

You will collaborate with teachers, administrators and families to identify student needs, develop intervention plans, and support positive behavior, attendance, and academic engagement in a culturally diverse setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field.
• Experience with children/adolescents in educational settings, ideally international schools.
• Strong skills in assessment, case management, and crisis intervention.
• Ability to design and deliver social-emotional learning initiatives and workshops.
• Fluent English; Arabic proficiency; strong communication and documentation skills.

• Strong skills in student assessment, case management, and crisis intervention, with the ability to handle sensitive situations with discretion and care.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust with students, families, and staff.
• Ability to design and deliver social-emotional learning initiatives, group sessions, and workshops that support student well-being and inclusion.
• Knowledge of child protection principles, safeguarding practices, and ethical standards related to confidentiality and professional conduct.
• Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic.
• Strong organizational and documentation skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and maintain accurate records.
