Job summary

Client of Brunel is seeking a Safety/HSE professional in Doha to lead safety programs, develop preventive maintenance procedures, and ensure SEQ compliance on site. The role involves coordinating equipment safety, training, incident investigations, and incident response during major emergencies.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor degree or Diploma in Engineering or Science with 5 years of Safety/HSE experience, and excellent written and spoken English.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or Diploma in Engineering, Science, or equivalent.
• 5 years' varied experience in Safety or HSE within industries or equivalent.
• Excellent written and oral English skills. Computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that safety equipment and facilities are kept in working order by developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs and associated procedures.
• Ensures regular inspection, testing and maintenance of all fixed and portable equipment within an assigned area of responsibility.
• Assist in developing and conducting training programs in SEQ related principles and practices.
• Monitors and facilitates the activities of maintenance and construction crews carrying out work under permit to work system to ensure SEQ compliance.
• Support and assist in incident control during major accidents or emergencies on site.
• Investigate incidents and prepare assessments and reports.
• Provides work direction to safety environment and quality technicians to ensure work requirements are met within necessary standards.
• Coordinate allocation of adequate stock of safety and emergency equipment and protective clothing at all times.
• Support in formulating developing and implementing safety programs, recommends improvements and ensures the availability of all safety documentation.
