Responsibilities

We are seeking a talented Safety Engineer, seconded to our client from the government sector in Doha, Qatar.

This role involves providing Health and Safety advice to KEO staff and contractors to raise safety standards and ensure compliance on site. Success in this role includes:

  • Providing specific Health & Safety support to the QSSE Manager.
  • Drafting or reviewing Health & Safety documents as required.
  • Developing and promoting Health & Safety policies for programs and projects.
  • Reviewing and reporting on Health and Safety KPIs to ensure targets are met.
  • Advising and supporting managers in implementing Health & Safety practices both on site and in the office.
  • Collaborating with design and supervising consultants to resolve health, safety, and worker welfare issues.
  • Working with the Design Department to improve Road Safety Audit methods.
  • Acting as an internal facilitator to identify concerns and streamline processes.
  • Monitoring policies and procedures, reporting areas for improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety legislation across programs and projects.
  • Serving as a subject matter expert on Health & Safety matters, identifying trends and vulnerabilities, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Managing Non-conformance and achieving KPIs.
  • Coordinating with Quality and Safety departments for HSE plan approvals.
  • Performing additional duties as appropriate.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 5 years in HSE management of large-scale infrastructure, landscaping, and building projects. A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science (Occupational Health, Safety, or related field) is required. Certifications such as NEBOSH (IGC/NGC), IOSH (Managing Safely, Working Safely), OSHA, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, and a valid First Aid Certificate are mandatory.
