Job summary

GREENLAND GROUP is seeking a Rolling Mill Operator for its Qatar site. You will operate and monitor steel rolling mill equipment to meet production targets and quality specs, while coordinating with control room and maintenance teams.

Candidates should have 3 years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of rolling processes, and a solid grasp of safety procedures in a heavy industrial setting. Shift work is required.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience as Rolling Mill Operator or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of steel rolling processes and equipment.
• Ability to monitor and adjust machine operating parameters.
• Solid understanding of industrial safety procedures.
• Strong observation, troubleshooting and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate and monitor steel rolling mill equipment and production lines.
• Control rolling operations to achieve required steel dimensions, quality, and production targets.
• Monitor process parameters such as rolling speed, temperature, pressure, and material flow.
• Operate and adjust rolling mill machinery, stands, guides, rollers, and related equipment.
• Inspect steel products during the rolling process and identify dimensional or surface defects.
• Coordinate with pulpit/control room operators, production supervisors, maintenance, and quality control teams.
• Perform routine checks of rolling equipment and report abnormalities or equipment faults.
• Assist in machine start-up, shutdown, changeover, and adjustment activities.
• Maintain production records, shift reports, and operating logs.
• Follow standard operating procedures, production plans, and safety requirements.
• Take immediate action during process abnormalities or emergency situations.
• Maintain good housekeeping around the rolling mill area.

Requirements:

• Relevant experience as a Rolling Mill Operator, preferably in a steel plant or heavy industrial environment.
• Good knowledge of steel rolling processes and rolling mill equipment.
• Ability to monitor and adjust machine operating parameters.
• Good understanding of industrial safety procedures.
• Strong observation, troubleshooting, and teamwork skills.
• Willingness to work in shifts and in a demanding industrial environment.
