Job summary

Baker Hughes Company in Doha, Qatar, is seeking a skilled Thermal Spray Operator to join our service center team. You will operate and program thermal spray equipment, prepare samples, and support fixture development for new product lines while ensuring high quality and safety standards.

You will read and interpret coating specifications and drawings, program CNCs or production robots, and work with ABB IRC5 controllers.

Qualifications

• Must have HS Diploma or GED; strong math skills required.
• 5 years experience in coatings of gas turbine components.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and coating specifications.
• Operation and programming of CNC equipment or production robots.
• Knowledge of ABB Robots IRC5 Controllers operations is required.

Responsibilities

• Operates, programs and maintains specialized thermal spray equipment according to work instructions and customer specs.
• Preparation of laboratory samples / approval of new sprays and processes.
• Works with cell leader in developing fixtures for new product lines.
• Performs part changeovers and executes work per product specs, drawings and instructions.
• Maintains safety and quality standards in all tasks.
• Performs routine preventative maintenance on machines and related equipment.
• Prepares components (masking and surface prep) and performs blending/polishing to remove overspray.
• Operates vacuum furnaces and supports welding, grinding, assembling, shot peening as required.
• Maintains clean work area and supports housekeeping.
• Updates digital shop systems (Digital Work Order, Time Voucher, Opex completion).
• Ensures compliance with HSE and BH Policies.
