Job description

We are working with a major Oil & Gas operator to source a QA/QC Inspector (Welding/NDT/Jacket) for a major offshore Oil & Gas redevelopment project. This is a long-term contract role based on-site, with a 5-day work week and 8-hour days. Details are as follows:

Title: QA/QC Inspector (Welding/NDT/Jacket)

Start Date: Negotiable (typically within 1 month notice)

Duration: 3 years (renewable)

Location: Doha Onshore (Office-based)

Working Schedule: 5 days per week / 8 hours per day

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Ensure quality requirements of fabrication, construction, and installation activities are implemented according to QE’s approved QC procedures and project documents.
  2. Ensure contractors, subcontractors, and vendors have competent resources and adhere to internationally accepted practices to deliver compliant products.
  3. Monitor all site and fabrication yard welding activities, ensuring welding joints meet QE approved WPSs.
  4. Attend all PQR mechanical tests to verify compliance with QE standards.
  5. Witness all contractor welder qualification tests and evaluate visual and NDT results.
  6. Witness daily NDT activities, interpret test results, and evaluate findings.
  7. Monitor in-process inspection of offshore steel structures and facilities, verifying conformity to standards and specifications.
  8. Report daily to QA/QC Engineer on compliance issues and quality matters.
Qualifications:

High technical school diploma or equivalent with welding/NDT certification from recognized organizations (AWS, TWI, API, ASME, ASNT). TWI CSWIP 3.2 or AWS SCWI certification in welding is required, along with ASNT LEVEL II in NDT.

Experience:

Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas downstream industry, with experience in international consultancy, third-party inspection, EPIC contracting, or end-user project implementation.
