Job summary

The Ministry of Public Health - Qatar is seeking a senior public health professional to lead research, epidemiological analysis, and policy development across departments and partners to improve national health programs.

You will benchmark programs against regional standards, present findings to management, plan actions, organize trainings with WHO consultants, monitor progress, and drive public health research and outreach campaigns.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in public health, epidemiology, related medical science, or Healthcare Management.
• 10+ years of experience in roles relevant to public health scope.
• Experience in developing and evaluating public health programs and policies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct professional research and analysis to improve public health issues.

Job description

The Job holder shall work alongside MOPH departments, healthcare facilities and communities to support in improving the overall health of the Qatar population by focusing on providing information to these entities that will lead to improved programs and policies that has direct impact on the future health of the public.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

• 1. Conduct professional research and analysis to determine how to improve different issues and challenges in the public health sector.
• 2. Analyse epidemiological trends of the diseases and their risk factors to the community by conducting epidemiological studies and surveillance.
• 3. Benchmark the health programs of Qatar with the regional and international standards related to public health.
• 4. Develop and present the findings and their opinions to management in order to develop policies and procedures.
• 5. Review current program and policies that target the public health and determine if they can be improved in one way or another.
• 6. Plan & implement action plan for existing project and programs.
• 7. Ensure effective partnerships within the core departments of MOPH to strengthen the information flow internally and externally.
• 8. Monitor various health programs and evaluate the progress made.
• 9. Collaborate with partners in governmental, non-governmental & private organizations on health program development and implementation.
• 10. Organise workshops/trainings for diverse group of audience in collaboration with WHO consultants and various other stakeholders.
• 11. Organize awareness campaigns in educational institutions, malls, workplaces & participate in counselling of the public on the risk factors of various diseases and the role of healthy lifestyle.
• 12. Develop and participate in Public Health research.
• 13. Perform other duties as requested to meet the ongoing organizational needs.

Master’s degree in public health, Epidemiology, related medical science, or Healthcare Management, or any related field within the field of Public Health. PhD preferred

Minimum 10 years' experience acquired in positions relevant to the scope.
